Lesley Riddoch (Perspective, 24 August) was mistaken when she claimed that the Scottish Left Project (SLP) was “a pact between the Scottish Socialist Party (SSP) and the Radical Independence Campaign (RIC)”.

Lesley Riddoch (Perspective, 24 August) was mistaken when she claimed that the Scottish Left Project (SLP) was “a pact between the Scottish Socialist Party (SSP) and the Radical Independence Campaign (RIC)”.

While some of the same people are involved in both, RIC remains a distinct organisation, with active local groups across Scotland.

We are not a political party. Our focus is issues-based rather than electoral, and we welcome activists from all parties and none.

With all best wishes for RISE, it’s important not to confuse them with RIC.
