Parking dispute

How does research showing that women scored 13.4 out of 20 against 12.3 for men in car-parking skills (your report, 30 January) prove that they are significantly “better than men” in this? It shows (still quite interestingly, in view of previous prejudice) that probably gender has no bearing on the activity.

If one were to compare motorists whose surnames began with a letter between A and M to those between N and Z you would probably find a similarly irrelevant difference.
