Papal meddling
When I pick up the papers and listen to the television every day, I am increasing being forced to the conclusion that the world could be a happier and more peaceful place if there well no religions at all. Despite whatever the religious leaders may say most religions have had bloodthirsty periods at some time in their history and, sadly, inter-religious friction seems to be as prevalent now as it was in the past.
Only this week Pope Francis has raised the question of the deaths of the Armenians under the Turkish, Ottoman Empire. I cannot see what good it does to rake up this tragedy yet again as it simply stirs up the pot of inter-religious friction even more.
