Opposition role

Actually, I agree with Douglas Mayer (Letters, 24 February). Of course there is objective opposition, and knee-jerk opposition.

Of course some unionists fall into the latter category in opposing the SNP – my point is that the SNP cannot throw stones at anyone on this subject, as they 
mostly fall into the latter category as well!

Scottish politics as a whole can be somewhat unedifying and uninspiring at times.
