Oil shenanigans

The fall in oil prices would have resulted in Scotland facing a 
financial black hole in the next few years if the separatists had won.

Accordingly, I find that the current complaint from them, that the powers offered by the Smith Commission fall well short of “their” expectations, demonstrates unbelievable nerve.

Rather than complaining, they should be thanking No 
voters for saving them from a very bleak financial future.

Who knows how many Yes voters would have voted No if they had not been duped by the unrealistic revenue predictions which former first minister Alex Salmond et al insisted were valid.

I am amazed that the press has not interrogated Salmond, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Deputy First Minister John Swinney to extract some form of apology for making such ludicrous predictions. If they still insisted that the current fall is just a temporary blip, then they should be offered an additional power under the commission, namely receipt of all the actual future oil revenues.

However, the amount to be deducted from the block grant to compensate would be the amounts they predicted would be generated.
