Office revolution

I READ "Scottish cities facing office space crisis" (Business, 25 April) with great interest. An increasing number of companies are offering employees the chance to work away from a conventional office space. This has massive productivity benefits and also has a positive impact on morale.

Many businesses have used this approach to drive down travel costs in the current economic climate. The recent travel mayhem has also encouraged flexible working to keep organisations running.

Comments in the article predict a shortage of office space in Glasgow and Edinburgh. My prediction is that developments in technology will continue to encourage this flexible style of working, so in fact what we will see is a more flexible provision of office space.
