Odds and ends

On Tuesday you reported that an Aberdeen punter had placed a £50,000 bet on Andy Murray to win Wimbledon, which you stated “could return winnings of £175,000”.

As this represents odds of 7/2, I was surprised to read in the next paragraph that the punter had “accepted the odds being offered by Ladbrokes of 5/2”.

As Ladbrokes odds would return “winnings” of only £125,000, I wonder if, should Murray win Wimbledon, the punter will try to hold The Scotsman to the higher winnings stated.
