Nuclear disaster

It is odd that Alex Salmond is arguing for the scrapping of nuclear weapons on financial grounds but the abolition of nuclear power in Scotland on some sort of moral principle. There may be ethical arguments for the discontinuation of Trident but this project employs about 6,000 people here so its abolition would mean fiscal disaster for this country.
