Not forgotten

Adam Brown (Letters, 1 November) should be reassured that the National Museums Scotland is taking the anniversary of the First World War very seriously indeed.

We have been working for some time to develop an appropriate and fitting programme to recognise the contribution and sacrifices made by countless Scots and others in this conflict. The announcement of our commemorative programme is scheduled to be made next week.
