North Sea safety

It is with some concern I see the Health & Safety Executive having to issue improvement notices to major oil contractors in the North Sea for failing to 
action extensive lists of basic safety and operational maint­enance work over a considerable period of time.

With the planned contraction of staffing in the oil/gas industry in the North Sea, it is vitally important that the H&SE ensure that safety laws and regulations are being complied with and should be issuing improvement and prohibition notices in acc­ordance with their responsibilities.
