No targets

In response to Gerry Hassan’s comment piece (Perspective, 30 March) I would like to make clear that there are no targets or incentives based on benefit outcomes for those applying for personal independence payment (PIP) in the Atos Healthcare contract with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Atos Healthcare does not make decisions on benefit
entitlement. Our contract is for the provision of independent clinical advice which will be part of the information used by the DWP when deciding on eligibility for and rate of PIP.

The contract we have already signed includes targets around quality, consistency, customer service and timeliness.
