No peaceful rest

First the archaeologists find the late King Richard III in a car park, then we learn that the late King James I may lie beneath Hospital Street in Perth (your ­report, 12 February).

I hope other archaeologists do not begin digging up the car park behind Edinburgh’s St Giles Cathedral. If the late John Knox does lie there, re-interring the remains will create an enormous problem: ecclesiastical law prevents human remains being ­buried within the walls of Church of Scotland churches.
