No mouthpiece

Mark Boyle (Letters, 13 July) mistakenly ascribes to me the position of "the BNP's official newspaper letter writer".

For decades now, I have maintained the status of an independent political commentator in the letters columns of many newspapers, not least of which The Scotsman. Thunder on the Right I may well be, but always my own man.

I am not alone in perceiving that the present government fears the publication in a National Census of the extent to which the demographic patterns of our nation are being rapidly skewed in the direction of a multiracial society. These facts, whilst obtainable from many disparate sources, are nowhere so clearly expressed as in published National Census records.
