No hijacking

David Wilkie is spot on with his accusations that the SNP is hijacking the Commonwealth Games and making political gain from what should be a purely sporting matter (your report, 26 May).

Can David Wilkie really envisage a world in which a politician with a mission does not try to associate himself with a positive event that will attract worldwide coverage?

Yes, the SNP is making the most out of the Games, but to call this “hijacking” is silly.
