No evidence to support turbines

YOU report that Professor Sir Ian Wilmut claims that wind turbines are vital to reducing carbon emissions (‘No wind farms, no food, warns Wilmut’, News, 13 January).

Unfortunately, there is no evidence of any such reduction. Sir Ian should stick to his specialist subject and others should not regard his views on subjects outwith his speciality as authoritative.
