NHS crisis

The recruitment problem with doctors in Scottish surgeries has now reached crisis point, with waiting times to see a doctor getting longer and longer and forcing many patients to seek private treatment for their
ailments.

In the north-east of Scotland thousands of patients are getting letters from the NHS telling of changed arrangements for local surgeries, which are bulging with increasing patient lists and forcing many to go to surgeries outwith their normal area.

It seems the stress and pressure associated with NHS paperwork and growing patient lists is making it difficult to attract new doctors, despite their excellent salaries, and forcing many older doctors into early retirement.

This growing problem has not been adequately addressed and Scottish health ministers continue to issue flowery reassuring statements that simply fall on deaf ears.
