New town blues

The Cumbernauld councillors who called Craig Ferguson a “traitor” for being rude about his home town (your report, 6 March) need to get a sense of humour.

I’d be interested in hearing them explain exactly what has improved there in the last few years, because the last time I went – and I’ve been several times – it wasn’t terribly appealing.
