BBC Alba is close to finalising a deal with the cash-strapped SPFL which will allow it to broadcast 16 Championship matches.

This is not good news for the many rugby supporters who have enjoyed the intelligent and entertaining coverage of the Pro 12 games on a Friday evening.

Will the coverage of rugby continue? I might add that I am not a Gaelic speaker.
