New alliances
Would it not be interesting if Scotland, once out of the UK, would join a confederation of Norway, Iceland and Greenland?
They would stay out of the EU, which is an expensive disaster. On their own they would have what remains of the oil, recover control of their seas and fishing while developing sea power and start building a decent infrastructure.
