Need for speed

THE “modest progress” agreed between Alex Salmond and Michael Moore would appear to confirm that the independence referendum will be held in the autumn of 2014, between two and three years away.

So any companies wishing to invest in Scotland will either have to take a chance on locating here, go elsewhere or sit on their hands like the rest of us, while both sides pontificate and snipe at each other.

It’s hardly an auspicious start to the brave new country of Scotland if that’s what the people ultimately decide. Can we not hurry up the process?
