National song

With regard to the ongoing debate about a national anthem, although my personal preference is A Man’s a Man for a’ That, a song full of future promise and friendship, I find it strange that hardly anybody has mentioned the international anthem that we have already given to the world.

It is a song of eternal friendship, sung whenever people
gather together or whenever friends meet, known and sung in countless languages and in countless countries.

It is Auld Lang Syne. We need no new identity.
