Name the day

Why are the organisers of the Bannockburn commemoration under fire (your report, 25 February)? The date of the 700th anniversary is fixed and immovable.

The people who should be under fire are those who decided to hold Armed Forces Day in Stirling on a date which clashed with the main event.

Who made this decision? When? Why? What will it cost Stirling and other local authorities in terms of street closures,
policing and what else?

Instead of quizzing the Bannockburn organisers, all parties at Holyrood should unite in a demand that the time and place of Armed Forces Day be changed.
