Muted response

One thing that struck me in the days following the referendum result was the complete lack of celebration or feeling of wellbeing shown on the television or where I live.

The silent majority have indeed remained reticent, emotionless and reluctant to engage in any discussion. Do Scottish No voters feel they have surrendered their cultural identity, and are ashamed of this?

Failure to embrace the bigger picture has resulted in a curiously empty feeling in this city. If Scotland had voted Yes, there would be an outpouring of joy among its supporters and there would literally be dancing in the streets.
