MMR research poser

I welcome the Department of Health’s call for the research involved in the case about MMR and autism to be made public, by both the claimants and the manufacturers.

However, I find it incredible that the department does not already have the relevant research from the manufacturers, since it promotes the product they make. Isn’t it a bit late in the day to be asking for it now?

It would be odd if "commercial confidentiality" overrode public interest in the details about a product used in a public vaccination programme.

Who, after all, has more authority in the running of this state - private corporations or the public?
