Misspent aid

I would have rather more sympathy regarding international aid being ring-fenced if the biggest recipient of bilateral aid had not been India, which has averaged £237 million in the past three years.

At a time when our aid last year amounted to £250m, India spent £2.2 billion on its defence budget and £780m on its space exploration, and is one of the fastest growing economies in the world.

The UK really does need to differentiate regarding those
nations we give to as the cuts bite deeper here.
