Missed chance

The Scottish Government has announced the financing of 14 new full-time consultants and four part-time, which is good news for the health boards allocated – but with no new allocation going to Grampian NHS.

This is yet another example of the North-east being ignored by the current SNP administration, despite Grampian NHS spending on private healthcare nearly tripling in the last financial year (your report, 5 June).

The opportunity to develop the much-needed specialist teams within the Grampian health board has been lost for the foreseeable future.
