I have just been rereading an article about a hero of mine. This was in The Scotsman of Saturday, 25 February, 1984, and was in praise of Sir James Murray, founder of the Oxford English Dictionary. "Scots" propagandists these days claim that, like Robert Burns, he was an ignorant twit, who did not even know the correct name for his own language.
