Memory whole

Is the anti-SNP lobby short on memory? Two weeks ago, they were complaining about the large supermarkets getting hit by an additional tax. Last week, and before the election, they were complaining that the large supermarkets would get the benefit from the minimum price of alcohol.

They rejected a minimum price for alcohol, only to see it introduced in England a few months later. The damage to Scotland of a reduction in corporation tax, now the coalition wants to reduce it to 20 per cent.

The folly of freezing council tax, as announced on Monday by George Osborne. And the Scottish budget’s problems in finding money for capital investment, again rumoured by the coalition.

The most ridiculous is to now try and blame the SNP for the trams fiasco. I could go on about railways and renewable energy. If they are relying on votes from people with short memories then they won’t be getting mine, and I fear not many from the Scots who are noted for long memories.
