‘Mealy-mouthed’

Permit me to reply to thank you heartily for Martin Stern’s letter (13 August) in reply to mine. Apart from introducing all sorts of ideas to which I did not refer, nor which I have ever held, the letter was most amusing and has given considerable mirth and hilarity to my friends and family, since I have never before been accused of being “mealy-mouthed”.

Suffice it to say that Mr Stern has as much free right to promulgate paranoid irrationality as I have of stating “mealy-mouthed” reason.

His epistle makes my point perfectly.
