E Hands (Letters, 27 November) expresses concern over the much more favourable remuneration package of the former first minister in comparison with that of lesser mortals. The reasoning behind this anomaly is admirably summed up in the ancient and venerable naval adage, which ends “.... you Jack, I’m all right.”
