Mary’s success

Amid the vitriol of electioneering, the horror of child abuse and the tensions caused by economic woes, the fruit of a simple vision was wonderfully celebrated in Glasgow on Sunday.

Ordinary citizens, young and old, business people and politicians packed the Glasgow Concert Hall to mark the tenth anniversary of Mary’s Meals and the premiere of the Oscar-nominated documentary Child 31.

Motivating us humans is notoriously difficult. However, being inspired by the call to provide one meal a day for suffering children at less than £1 per month has harnessed hearts, minds and actions almost beyond imagination.

Mary’s Meals underlines the real meaning of success, making a difference, a great difference, one person at a time.
