Market values

Sandy Gemmill (Letters, 10 December) exemplifies the nationalist trait of confusing England with London and the South-east.

He must surely be aware that huge areas of England, Wales and Northern Ireland have housing markets very similar to the markets in
Scotland.

I spent my life in housebuilding in both England and Scotland and have a better than fair knowledge of the varying degrees of market
values across the UK.
