Marine joy

I was pleased to read that the RSPB has belatedly woken up to the risks of wind farms to our seabird population and wants to set up seabird protection areas (your report, 15 May).

I hope its good example will be followed by marine conservation bodies in rejecting wind, tidal and wave energy developments within the Inner Hebrides and Firth of Clyde so that protection is provided for our fragile populations of dolphins, porpoises, otters and basking sharks.
