If David Cameron can bring his entire Cabinet to Scotland to fight for continued London control over Scotland, why can’t the Scottish Government go down to London to fight for Edinburgh control?

They could also positively assure businesses there that their interests would be even better served without the punitive taxes imposed by Westminster.

They might also ask what will happen if Cameron’s much-vaunted European referendum results in England’s vast majority voting us all out of Europe.

This would mean that the whole of Scotland would be dumped out of Europe, even if the entire nation voted to stay in.

All the more reason to heed Lord Acton’s words of long ago: “Do not surrender your sovereignty to an authority you cannot control.”
