Lost respect

Scots Wha' Hae or Flower of Scotland, it matters not a whit. (Opinion 18 January). There was a time when everyone stood smartly to attention whenever they heard their national anthem played, including my dog, who knew it signalled the end of television broadcasting for the evening and, hence, was time for his walk. Today no-one seems to bother. I have even seen loutish rugby players nonchalantly chewing gum while their anthem is played.

If folk are not going to show their anthem due and proper respect, there is little point in having one.
