Long wait for GP
I ring a surgery for an appointment.
The receptionist welcomes me and asks what it is I want.
I reply: “To see a GP about this Community Alliance, Deep End project.” There is a pause.
“Certainly,” she replies. “Would 13 March suit you?”
I, in astonishment, say: “Gosh, tomorrow?”
“Not quite,” she replies. “That would be a year tomorrow.”
That would fit in perfectly with the many reports on GP waiting times as recently published in The Scotsman.
