Local jobs myth

AT A RECENT public exhibition by the developers relating to Little Raith wind farm extension at Lochgelly in Fife, it was explained that the existing turbines are operated remotely from a control centre based in Salzburg, Austria.

Additionally, the high-value components, including the GE turbines, the gear box and the control system were all sourced from overseas and the developer is based in Manchester. The only local benefit seems to be a job for a bird surveyor.
