Little to fear

There has been outrage in Germany over the possible reprinting of Mein Kampf – a book I was required to read as a divinity student along with Das Kapital and Mao’s Little Red Book.

In fact, there is nothing to fear since if anything is going to put the young off political activism it will be the banalities contained in these dismal tomes. Such books are probably too heavy for trainee clerics in these days of academia-lite, but I am informed students have been asked to write an essay on the SNP’s white paper.

I hasten to say that this is hardly the same because the thoughts of Chairman Alex may be predictable, but they are brightened by much unintended humour and high farce.
