Litter logic

Good for Emma Cowing (Perspective, 30 October). I suspect that most readers of The Scotsman would never dream of deliberately creating litter. However, it is plain that a great many inhabitants of Scotland think it perfectly in order to do so. What research has been done to find out the psychological reasons for such an attitude?
