Lib Dem ‘shame’

How arrogant of Danny Alexander to suggest that the Liberal Democrats have nothing to apologise for and claiming that his party has gained much economic credibility (your report, 3 March). Being in government heralds responsibilities and party manifesto commitments come in for some scrutiny.

So let us look at some Lib Dem commitments: keeping child benefit universal; scrapping tuition fees and lowering the voting age to 16. Then we have “protecting public services”.

These are just a few commitments not delivered on or, worse, voted against.

Not only should Mr Alexander and his Lib Dem colleagues be apologising, they should be hiding in shame.
