Letters: SNP threatens our security

RE: LAST week's story "Forces shorten contracts for police chiefs". No sooner had the promised 1,000 police been announced when numbers started to drop.

Now we know SNP funding will reduce police numbers even more. I do not believe the SNP can be trusted with the security on our streets. I fear independence would have the SNP go further to a point where security as we know it would be a distant memory.

WE HAVE one ambulance service in Scotland that serves both rural and urban, so why can't the police and fire brigades do the same? It shouldn't affect the front line, having one force or brigade who can block purchase the kit and vehicles with further savings.
