Letter: Water fright

ON RECEIVING my latest council tax bill, I was reassured to see it has stayed the same for another year but very concerned to note that the additional combined water and sewage rates amounted to almost 30 per cent of the total bill.

As a domestic consumer, I cannot source my water from another supplier and have to pay whatever is asked by Scottish Water, which seems unfair when considering the alternatives available for other utility bills. Perhaps a suitable matter for the Monopolies Commission to investigate ?
