Letter: Visits to Palestine

You reported how Israeli authorities are preventing visits by Scots to their friends in Palestine (11 July). The only way to visit is to travel through Israel, since Israel has bombed the airport. By preventing visitors, Israel is implementing a new, illegal blockade.

The cross-party group in the Scottish Parliament on Palestine has asked the UK government to support and facilitate the visit of our fellow Scots to Palestine and calls on the Israeli government to allow free passage as enshrined in international law. Peaceful visits to the occupied territories are a human right and blocking them underlines the bankrupt morality of the Israeli government.
