Letter: UK celebrations

Before the forthcoming elections to the Scottish Parliament, I hope that electors will reflect on last week before deciding upon which party to vote for.

The jubilation over the royal wedding serves to underline our links with the rest of the UK. The Union flags were out on show all over Edinburgh, illustrating how remiss was the decision by Labour to replace it with the Saltire.

Moreover voters should realise that a vote for the SNP is a vote to ensure that never again would we be part of such quintessentially British celebrations, such is the ambition of Alex Salmond's party.
