Letter: Tuition fees

It is impossible to reconcile English students paying up to £9,000 per year for their education while Scottish students enjoy free education.

Scottish educational establishments have been quick to highlight their impossible plight in having to pay off lecturers and reduce budgets with reduced financial support from the Scottish Government in addition to the hopeless educational imbalance that it creates.

It is predictable that whoever is elected to form a government after the May elections will have to do a U-turn on any manifesto commitments and introduce some form of student payment either in fees or graduation charges.

This educational dilemma will only be satisfied when it is decided and agreed that all students will be treated the same.
