Letter: Tram pollution

Archie Hipwell (Letters, 8 September) rightly takes me to task for failing to include "logistics" in the title of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), of which I am a member.

But he is wrong about the comments I have made on the way the Edinburgh trams project is being mishandled. I have never stated or implied that my views are those of CILT. If Mr Hipwell lived in Edinburgh, he would be able to experience the disruption and pollution in previously quiet, clean-air areas. This high level of pollution is being extended to many schools along the tram route, according to maps produced by the City of Edinburgh Council. We need an urgent environmental reassessment before the project is allowed to continue.
