MAYBE it’s the twinkling lights and the prospect of a few days off work. Maybe it’s the mulled wine and high-calorie food.

Or maybe I’m losing my mind. But whatever it is, it made me smile and feel slightly optimistic when I saw the images of the first tram (your report, 16 December).
