Letter: Train troubles

I find the article, "If you thought working was stressful just wait until you get to the airport" (30 June), astonishing, especially as I have just completed the most horrendous journey by rail from London to Edinburgh on an cramped, overcrowded train.

There was inadequate storage, we were unable to move our feet or legs and the overpriced, junk food-laiden trolley was substandard. This was the most uncomfortable, horrendous journey I have ever made and I arrived completely frazzled and exhausted.

Travel by air is luxurious and peaceful in comparison.
