Letter: Toy soldier

How one must feel for the families of our soldiers, sailors and aircrew when pictures are displayed in newspapers of Prince Edward, the Earl of Essex, attending the Monaco wedding attired in the uniform of a senior officer of the senior service. Is this not the same chap who went AWOL while attending a course to be a member of our fighting forces?

He should be ashamed of himself continuing to appear as a toy soldier or sailor, boasting a host of medals, none of them for any glory that he has brought on this country.

Stick with a pin-striped suit and stop offending this nation by continually turning out in fancy dress. In some areas it is an offence to wear a uniform.
