Letter: Tesco questions

AS REGARDS the issue of Tesco and Linwood (your report, 1 September), it's about time for former Labour leader Wendy Alexander MSP to tell the truth.

She claimed that she led a campaign to "boot out Balmore" and that she personally invited Tesco to take over the Linwood shopping centre (claims repeated on her website).

So what did she know and when did she know it? Was she aware of the alleged connection between Balmore and Tesco and did she know it when she was - according to her - lobbying them to move into Linwood, or was she duped by Tesco?

It's time for answers, Wendy: what was your role in this deal?
